Help from neighbors

How Do A Good volunteers can help you

Volunteers can visit, call, bring groceries, drop off supplies, or give you a ride. To keep everyone safe, every request comes through a local organization we have verified.

  1. Talk to an organization you already know. Someone at a senior center, food pantry, shelter, church, or school, or your caseworker.
  2. Ask them to post a need on Do A Good. They describe what would help, without putting your name in public.
  3. A confirmed volunteer helps. The organization chooses the volunteer and shares your address only with that person. Needs involving seniors or children go only to background-checked volunteers.

Help through Do A Good is always free, and we never sell your information.

Who can post for you

  • A senior center or Area Agency on Aging

  • A shelter or outreach team
  • Your church or faith community
  • A school counselor or social worker
  • A caseworker or care manager

Not sure where to start? Dial 211 and ask about senior services, food programs, or housing help in your area.
